1808- Pellegrino Turri creates the first working typewriter
1868- First typewriter is patented that functions made by Christopher Latham Sholes
1874- First typewriter goes on the market
1878- First typewriter contest in which Frank McGurrin typed the fastest
1880- Second typewriter appears on the market
1881- Single Type elements produced (one set of letters, not one for upper and one for lower case letters)
